The Mount Maunganui Beachside Holiday Park is just a few minutes walk from cafés, restaurants, the Mount Salt Water Hot Pools, friendly resort style shopping, and world class, white sandy beaches.  It is the perfect place for a memorable holiday.

We have fantastic boating, diving, fishing and surfing on our doorstep and it’s an easy drive to Tauranga City Centre and to top Bay of Plenty attractions.

Mauao Walking Tracks 

Some of the most popular walking tracks  in the Tauranga area are on Mauao, the mountain that rises above the Mount Maunganui Beachside Holiday Park. 

For the energetic, the track to the summit rewards with spectacular views on a clear day while the base track meanders more leisurely around the base of the mountain. 
 
There are also plenty of other walks both leisurely and more demanding for those wanting more of a challenge, in the wider Tauranga and Bay of Plenty region.  For more information view the Department of Conservation website.

Boat Ramps

There is a boat ramp just across the road from the Harbour Park part of the Holiday Park at the end of The Mall in Pilot Bay. This ramp is suitable for all boats and is accessible in all tides.

Mount Hot Saltwater Pools

These famous hot pools, are right on our doorstep and are well worth a visit during your stay at the Mount Maunganui Beachside Holiday Park.

Baywave

If you need a break from the sun and surf then Baywave Aquatic and Leisure Centre  is a great place for kids of all ages.

Fishing

If you are keen on fishing bring your fishing gear with you. There is fabulous fishing on our doorstep including good wharf and jetty fishing for the kids and great surf casting just along the beach.

Or you can book a fishing trip with one of our local charter companies. There are a wide range of charter companies  operating out of the Mount and Tauranga.

If fresh water fishing is more your thing, there are also several rivers and lakes within a short drive of the Holiday Park where you can fish for trout.   For more information view the Bay of Plenty tourism website

Swimming with Dolphins

 Swimming with dolphins one of the most popular activities for visitors to the Holiday Park.

Diving

There are lots of fabulous dive spots  to explore including shipwrecks, magnificent reefs and the Mayor Island Marine Reserve. 

Water Sports and Adventure Activities

Mount Maunganui and the Tauranga area is renown for water sports and adventure activities such as kayaking, blo-karting, stand up paddle boarding, wind surfing, surfing, parasailing, and sky diving.  For more information on the myriad of water sport and adventure activities available view the Bay of Plenty Tourism website.  

Parks and Reserves

There are many beautiful parks and reserves  in the area to enjoy.

Shopping and Cinemas

Mount Maunganui town centre is just a few minutes walk from the Holiday Park and there is a great range of shops to browse as well as café’s, restaurants and cinemas.
 
Downtown Tauranga is approximately a ten minute drive from the Holiday Park and it too has a great range of shops, cafes, restaurants and cinemas.   There are two cinemas in Tauranga;  Bay City Cinema and Rialto

Classic Flyers

Classic Flyers is a unique aviation experience. Just five minutes drive from the Holiday Park its classic aircraft and aviation memorabilia displays are well worth a visit.

Arts and Culture

There is always a wide range of shows, exhibitions, concerts and events on in Tauranga.  For more information about what’s on view the events website.

One of Tauranga’s best known events is the National Jazz Festival  – New Zealand’s longest running jazz festival.

Tauranga’s Art Gallery is in the centre of Tauranga and has exhibitions of historical, modern and contemporary art.

Regional Activities

If you are looking for adventure a little further afield there are lots of activities in the wider Bay of Plenty region such as a trip to White Island, Rotorua’s geothermal attractions or even a tour of Waihi’s Martha Goldmine, to choose from.
